The purpose of the Society is to promote interest in Irish Heritage and to develop a great appreciation for Irish Culture. Allied with these objections is the desire to experience good fun and good fellowship among members of the Society who are Irish by birth, marriage, or desire.

In order to nominate a Colleen & Grand Marshal they need to be a HMS Member in good standing.
HMS shall select a Grand Marshal (GM) for the Irish Heritage Season annually and he will be in charge of Irish tradition and entertainment.
HMS shall select a Colleen for the Irish Heritage Season annually and she shall be in general co-charge of Irish Tradition and entertainment.
The candidates for Grand Marshal and Colleen must submit or have their names submitted by July 1, 2023 to be considered for the Grand Marshal and Colleen position to the Executive Director (exdirhms@gmail.com) for the upcoming 2023-2024 Irish Season. The selection process of the Grand Marshal and Colleen shall be completed no later than August 1, 2023 for the upcoming Irish Heritage Season.
Stacy McGuire Thunelius is from Biloxi where she currently resides with her family. The McGuire family name comes from Northern Ireland. Stacy is the Assistant Store Manager at Dillard’s in Edgewater Mall. She has been a member of HMS for approximately 4 years and values all the friendships she has made. As she says, “This group makes everyone feel welcome and you immediately feel like you are part of a big Irish family.” Stacy has been married to Bob for 27 years and they have four children ranging in ages from 12 to 22.
Charles Nannery resides in Ocean Springs and was born in the south Bronx of New York City. In the mid 1800’s his great grandfather and Irish ancestors migrated from Granard, County Longford, Ireland, to New York City. Charles retired on the MS gulf coast after serving 23 years in the United States Air Force. He then worked in Human Resources at the President and New Palace casinos in Biloxi and later at Imperial Palace Hotel/Casino Resort as HR Manager. Barbara McCaig, his wife and he have been HMS members for more than 30 years and have both served as HMS President and Parade Captain. He served as HMS Treasurer and was our 2022 St. Patrick. They have two children Robert Carl and Kyla Shan Marie.
