The purpose of the Society is to promote interest in Irish Heritage and to develop a great appreciation for Irish Culture. Allied with these objections is the desire to experience good fun and good fellowship among members of the Society who are Irish by birth, marriage, or desire.

In order to nominate a Colleen & Grand Marshal they need to be a HMS Member in good standing.
HMS shall select a Grand Marshal (GM) for the Irish Heritage Season annually and he will be in charge of Irish tradition and entertainment.
HMS shall select a Colleen for the Irish Heritage Season annually and she shall be in general co-charge of Irish Tradition and entertainment.
The candidates for Grand Marshal and Colleen must submit or have their names submitted by July 1, 2023 to be considered for the Grand Marshal and Colleen position to the Executive Director (exdirhms@gmail.com) for the upcoming 2023-2024 Irish Season. The selection process of the Grand Marshal and Colleen shall be completed no later than August 1, 2023 for the upcoming Irish Heritage Season.
Carrie is a Mississippi girl and until very recently was living in a Meteorology world. She grew up in Starkville and is a proud Mississippi State Bulldog! Carrie is the youngest of four girls and her parents were married for 53 years. Carrie’s started her television career in Erie, PA, before eventually moving to Biloxi, Mississippi. She joined WLOX in September of 2002 and was Chief Meteorologist for 7 years. After a little over 21 years at WLOX and 25 years in television, she retired from television. Carrie loves being a wife and mom to their two boys, Bradley, 9 and Carter, 7. While Carrie may have retired from television, she has pivoted into a different industry. She is now the Community Relations and Engagement Specialist at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. She says she is loving the change and excited about the opportunity and learning new things.
Alwyn H. Luckey is a long-time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and married to the former Jeanne Elaine Carter of Biloxi. They have two daughters, Laurel and Taylor. Alwyn received his BA in Zoology from the University of Mississippi in 1982 and his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1985. In 1993, Alwyn set up his own law practice in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, where he still practices today. Alwyn was a leading participant in the landmark Cosey asbestos case that was tried in 1998 and received a record verdict of $48.5 million. Considered to be one of the pioneers in mass tort litigation in both the state of Mississippi and the country, Alwyn has represented thousands of asbestos and silica clients. To date, he has been able to recover well over $500 million on their behalf.
Alwyn is also an active member of the community and has served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons of First Presbyterian Church. He is a former President of the Boys and Girls Club and has received numerous awards, including the National Medallion for Service. He is a former Judge of City of Ocean Springs, Mississippi State Personnel Board member, and Chairman of the Mississippi State Personnel Board from 2012 until present. He was also a nominee for United States District Judge by President Donald J. Trump. In his spare time, Alwyn enjoys playing tennis, boating, and traveling.
